Eagle Pass Jefe de Policía Alberto Guajardo le informó al News Gram que su fuerza estará en y alrededor del área Shelby Park, donde Las Noches Mexicanas se llevarán a cabo este fin de semana.
Los oficiales estarán patrullando la zona en cuatro ruedas adquiridos para ser utilizados en este tipo de eventos al aire libre, donde grandes concentraciones de personas se reúnen, así como para disuadir a cualquier tipo de robos de automóviles o robos.
"Queremos mostrar a nuestros visitantes que vendrán aquí a lo largo de los próximos cuatro días de que cuando se trata de la seguridad pública, sobre todo con la cantidad de tráfico peatonal vamos a ver, la EPPD significa negocio."
El jefe dijo que sus oficiales estarán monitoreando los que se bebía en estos eventos y serán sobre todo estar en la búsqueda de los menores en posesión de alcohol.
En referencia a las unidades en las cuatro ruedas, el oficial # 1 en la Fuerza de Policía de Eagle Pass, dijo, "Estas unidades se utilizan especialmente para este tipo de eventos y emergencias. Esperamos una gran cantidad de gente el sabado. Dos de ellos fueron comprados con fondos Stonegarden para la vigilancia a lo largo del río y en terrenos difíciles".
Los oficiales que serán asignados a estos vehículos son Juan Balderas, Eduardo Flores, Jorge Galván y Fernando Fernández.
"Vamos a tener cero tolerancia para la intoxicación pública y menores en posesión, por lo que les recordamos a nuestros ciudadanos y aquellos que visitan nuestra ciudad que celebren con responsabilidad y tengan un conductor designado. Les deseamos un fin de semana agradable."

Effectively immediately, both IH 35 northbound main lanes are closed at mile marker #70 due to a four vehicle collision involving two semi-tractor trailers and two passenger vehicles. Road is expected to be closed multiple hours. One possible fatality reported.

A fin de mantener los vecindarios de alta calidad, Pct. 1 con la colaboración de Carreteras y Puentes ha terminado la limpieza en la zona de Barrio Westlake.
Mantener callejones limpio y libre de basura es importante porque puede ser necesaria en caso de que una llamada de emergencia para vehículos de mantenimiento para acceder a los postes de electricidad o en una ruta de escape en caso de incendio.

Eagle Pass Independent School District Police Chief Eduardo Esquivel has stepped down turning in his letter of resignation on march 24th.
Esquivel has been the man in charge of the EPISD Police Force since February of 2013 and had been serving the EPISD as Interim Police Chief for several months before he received the approval of the Board of Trustees and officially became the new chief of police replacing former chief Johnny Ruiz.
According to an official press release by Melissa Gratkowski, Public Information Officer for the EPISD, Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent of Schools, Gilberto Gonzalez, released the following statement today regarding EPISD Chief Eduardo Esquivel:
"Chief Eduardo Esquivel stepped down as Eagle Pass Independent School Chief of Police, effective Tuesday March 24, 2015. He will remain Acting Chief until a replacement is hired. He stepped down for personal reasons."

The Laredo City Council officially named Eagle Pass native Jesus Olivares, the current Interim City Manager for the City of Laredo, as the City Manager after a Special-Called City Council meeting on Tuesday, March 24, where the three remaining finalists for the position were interviewed. Olivares was named interim city manager following the retirement of former City Manager Carlos Villarreal at the November 17, 2014 City Council meeting.
