"As you know we always want to give back to the community who supports the Wal-Mart Supercenter, and in doing so, we want to go ahead and champion the cause that we have here locally," said Valencia, "Teleton Navideño has been a great organization. I've been here for the past ten years. I've seen how they operate. I've always been pleased with the fact that they're coming in and doing what is right for the community. I know the funds will be administered in the right way and at the end of the day, it's all about giving back to the community. The company wants us to go ahead and do it. We will continue doing it and obviously we want to support who's supporting us."
"I just want to thank Wal-Mart once again, all the sponsors of the Teleton Navideño who have contributed for several years as long as I've been involved," stated Tomas Herrera, "Thank you very much for your generous donations as we continue to work like we have in the past."
"Most of all thank you to Wal-Mart to Mr. Jesus Valencia, to Ms. Sylvia Musquiz thank you for her continued support and all of the employees. It's because of their efforts for the Teleton Navideño who continues to see great support. Wal-Mart has always been a great partner and a great sponsor of this event on a year to year basis," commented The Honorable Ramsey English-Cantu, "Every year we continue to see their support there at our annual event in December and today of course is the official event of the turning over of the check. We're just so grateful to them and we look forward to the continued partnerships with them in the years to come. I of course want to thank specifically Father Jim Fee who is here with us right now and I think that it's great to see that Wal-Mart is turning over a very important check for charity which will benefit the entire diocese including Sacred Heart, St. Joseph's and Our Lady of Guadalupe as well as Our Lady of Refuge."
"It's only my second week here, it's wonderful to be here in Eagle Pass and meeting so many people and it's wonderful to receive and see and participate in the generosity of the people of Eagle Pass and as Mr. Valencia mentioned our brothers and sisters from across the border who help people in our community who are in need," added Father James Fee who has come to us at Our Lady of Refuge, "Not only for this check from Wal-Mart, but also with the people at the parish who come to the church who have waited in line to receive the help from these funds. We look forward to get the support to those in need. God Bless you all."
